This Privacy Policy explains how Happy Strides, LLC ("we," "us") collects, uses and shares personal information through happystrides.com, our emails and text messages, and customer support (the "Services").

Information we collect

• What you give us: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, order and subscription details, information about your dog, and messages you send us. Payment card details are processed by Shopify and our payment processors. We don't store full card numbers.
• What we collect automatically: your IP address, device and browser information, approximate location, the pages you view, links you click, cart activity, and whether you open our emails and texts. We collect this using cookies, pixels and similar technologies.
• What we get from others: information from our service providers, such as payment, shipping and subscription companies, and from our advertising partners.

How we use it

We use personal information to:

• process orders, preorders and subscriptions
• provide customer support and handle refunds
• send order and account messages
• send marketing emails, and texts if you've agreed to them
• show and measure ads
• improve our site and products
• keep our products safe
• prevent fraud
• comply with the law and enforce our terms

How we share it

• Service providers: companies that help us run the business, such as e-commerce hosting, payments, fulfillment and shipping, subscriptions, email and text messaging, analytics, customer support, tax and accounting.
• Advertising partners: such as Meta and Google, to measure our ads and show ads to you or to people like our customers. Under some state laws, this may be a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
• Legal and business reasons: to comply with the law or legal process, to protect our rights and safety and those of others, or as part of a merger, sale or financing of our business.
• With your consent or at your direction.

We don't sell personal information for money.

Cookies, tracking and advertising

We use tools from Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta and Google to run our store, send emails and texts, understand how our site is used, and measure and show ads. These companies may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on our site, and across other websites and apps over time. Your controls:

• Opt out of targeted advertising on our Your Privacy Choices page.
• Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. We treat it as an opt-out for that browser.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• Use the industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.

We don't respond to other "Do Not Track" browser signals.

Emails and text messages

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email. If you've opted in to texts, reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.

Your choices and rights

You can review and update your account information at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

• access, correct or delete your personal information
• get a copy of it
• opt out of its sale or sharing, or of targeted advertising
• appeal our decision on your request

To make a request, email hello@happystrides.com with the subject line "Privacy request." We'll verify your identity before acting on it. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your written permission. To appeal our decision, reply to it with "Appeal" in the subject line. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information to provide and improve its services. For certain features, Shopify is responsible for processing your information. To learn more, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Children

The Services aren't directed to children under 13, and you must be 18 or older to buy from us. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we don't sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has given us information, and we'll delete it.

Retention and security

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements and to resolve disputes. We use reasonable safeguards to protect it, but no system is completely secure.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we'll post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. We'll notify you of material changes as required by law.
